Rapid NeuroFascial Rest is a neurologically based, active therapeutic technique that focuses on the central nervous system’s role in alleviating tension and restrictions within the body. It provides quick and long lasting results that get to the root of the pain. Utilizing a biopsychosocial perspective RAPID addresses the body’s perception of threat and danger. By bringing the brain back into safety, most painful conditions and range of motion restrictions disappear. Chronic pain is typically caused by residual inflammation by-products that haven’t been flushed in the process of healing. By applying RAPID techniques to the area we cause the body to flush them and restore normal tissue function.

RAPID therapists use a combination of hands on palpation, examination and treatment. Hypersensitive areas are treated by combining precisely directed depth and with very specific patient movements. These session may be uncomfortable. This occurs as the neurological system is being stimulated to restore normal function. Treatments are performed through clothing, so loose fitting clothing and thin fabrics are encouraged to ensure proper palpation of tissues.

Some of the conditions that can be resolved with RAPID NFR include headaches/migraines, back pain, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, shoulder pain, Frozen Shoulder, Sciatica, Plantar Fasciitis, knee problems, Tennis/Golfers elbow, Whiplash, TMJ issues, Bursitis, bunions and arthritic joints, neurological hypersensitivity.

“There’s an entire universe that exists within us and it’s an honor to hold space for individuals. Staying in tune with the balance and harmony of our body truly leads to optimum health and a further understanding of your being and purpose.”

After graduating from the Acupuncture program at Grant MacEwan University, Kiera has taken continuing education courses in facial rejuvenation, women’s health, and musculoskeletal treatments focused on the local pain and distal points through the balance acupuncture method. It is Kiera’s belief that the deep influence and connection our mind, body, and spirit share should always be incorporated in treatment as one does not improve without the other.

It is her passion to bring our faith back into our bodies and their ability to heal. Whether that means someone has been suffering from chronic pain, dysmenorrhea, anxiety, scarring, IBS, etc… Everyone deserves to feel whole again.

“One cannot bid the winds and waves to cease, but one can learn to navigate treacherous currents by conducting ourselves in harmony with the prevailing processes of transformation- and thus weather the storms of life.” - John Blofeld I Ching

“I truly believe that we all have the capacity to heal ourselves, we just need to be reminded sometimes. My goal is to provide a safe space where the connection with your body, and a sense of safety within it, can be re-established to allow physical pain and energetic blocks to be released.”

Mina’s background includes a Bachelor degree in Physiotherapy and a diploma in Massage Therapy. After years of treatment focusing on her clients’ physical bodies and listening to their stories, she’s realized that addressing the energetic body and re-connecting the body and mind is crucial in order for true healing to happen. Physical symptoms are messages from our bodies to our conscious mind and Mina’s goal is to try to help her clients find that communication line.

Her treatments combine elements of nervous system regulation, somatic release, RAPID NFR and energy work. Addressing both the physical and energetic body is what allows the body to regain a sense of safety within itself, and allows release of stagnant energy and emotions that lead to physical symptoms. Mina strives to provide a truly safe and judgment-free space that allows her clients to meet themselves with grace and curiosity.

When not working with clients, Mina is often expanding her knowledge in all things nervous system regulation, somatic work, Rapid NFR, holistic health and spirituality related. She’ll talk your ear off about the incredible engineering feat that is your body, as well as geek out over oracle cards, messages from spirit and all things witchy. She is an urban homesteader and loves making all things from soap to sauerkraut, so ask her if you need any good recipes!
